Upcycled Fashion Design: Philosophy and Process 2023 Run time: 19 minutes 38 seconds

Upcycling is an important component of the nascent circular fashion economy. As its popularity grows, there has been a significant surge in small upcycling businesses. Unlike more traditional forms of fashion production, this is an accessible and highly individualized practice. This short documentary features six designers/artists talking about how and why they engage in this process.

This work was screened in the spring of 2023 at the Cornell University exhibits Sustaining Style: Toward More Responsible Fashion at the Albert R. Mann Library at Cornell University and Past and Present Lives of Upcycled Fashion in the College of Human Ecology.

Bundle Dyeing Fabric
Spring 2021
Run time: 5 minutes 44 seconds

This informational video was created with fellow graduate student Lynda Xepoleas to support a virtual natural dye workshop for Cornell students during the spring of 2021. As in-person workshops were not possible due to COVID-19, we created and distributed over 100 natural dye kits. These kits included dyeing materials from our local community, along with an original zine about natural dyeing and a how-to guide. This video was created to offer extra support to students who were new to natural dyeing. In addition to filming and editing the video, I was also responsible for co-writing the script.
